Spain on strike

Just when you thought it was safe to mail me a Christmas card, Spanish postal workers have gone on strike for the rest of the week.

Also on strike in Madrid this holiday season: subway cleaners, railroad engineers, municipal court staff, and parking meter checkers. Usually Iberian Airline pilots go on strike during major holidays, but no word from them yet. Abortion clinics are threatening a strike for a week in January to protest government harassment.

Plan your holidays accordingly, solidarity optional.
