Are they scent producing flowers?

A very mild, delicate scent, much like apple trees. The trees are often planted as ornamentals for their springtime beauty, not their scent.

I'll take 5. I don't think the apt complex will mind...no..not at all.

The really high-end ornamental tree in Spain is a 1000-year-old olive, beautifully knarled by the wind and weather into a living sculpture. Not that your (or my) apartment complex could afford one.
