"Alvaro's New Life" in Space and Time magazine

My story "Álvaro's New Life" is published in the current issue of Space and Time magazine. It's set in Madrid, Spain, during a worldwide plague. A young man named Álvaro has a new life, a good life, as a result of all the changes, but it won't last long, and it hurts to be alive and to know that he is dying. The illustration for the story by Martin Hanford captures its stark atmosphere perfectly.

The story takes place in an apartment building surprisingly like mine, and I'm sorry to kill off so many people who bear passing resemblances to friends and neighbors, but, hey, it's only fiction, nothing personal.

Space and Time is a 41-year-old publication that's a must for true fans of strange and unusual fiction, poetry, and art:
