Interesting article! Now I know why my Spanish colleagues think I'm a work-aholic (I eat at my work desk so I can work on my own things like writing or blogging on the computer).

Spain was a culture shock for me coming straight from living in Germany where attitudes and routines are so different. I learned Spanish much quicker here because the Spaniards were willing to talk to me in Spanish, the Germans were so proud at being good at English I never learned.

Thanks for the opportunity. And for the survey. I learned a lot from it.

Spain is much more laid back than Germany. Except about eating at your desk. (I'm drinking a beer at my desk as I write this. Don't tell anyone.)

That's a beautiful and touching article. Thanks for sharing it. I was particularly impressed by how you noted the little things, like dress codes, greetings, smiling (I'd do horribly there ;-) that make life what it is but which are so easy for a stranger to miss.

Thank you. The longer I live here, the more I learn.
